Music on the Hill – East meets West @ PHF2024

Penang Hill Festival’s signature event, “Music on the Hill – East meets West”, returns by popular demand!

Be blown away by performances by the following performing groups:-

1. Penang Youth Orchestra presented by Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), a dynamic ensemble dedicated to showcasing the musical talents of young performers in the vibrant city of Penang.
2. BhaavaNarthana Naatyalaya, a prominent Penang-based classical Indian dance academy helmed by Guru Pavaani Thannimalai.
3. Culture Shot, a homegrown ethno fusion band who composes Penang tunes with Er-hu, Lang Tin Tang, Rebana with gongs, Gendang with Chinese cymbals, and flute — literally a melting pot of cultures.
4. Wak Long Music & Art Centre, the only traditional Malay performing group in Penang, who is set to present an impressive dikir barat performance.
5. Sada Borneo, a much sought-after band who aspires to create a new sound for Malaysian music to show the beauty of Malaysia. The band represented Malaysia in AXN’s Asia’s Got Talent 2015 and was the only Malaysian to make it to the semi-final stage!
